This springtime brings tons of inspiration for the design world. The biggest influence this spring seems to be nature itself! Flowers are wonderful tools to be inspired by this season. Honeysuckle has taken the lead as this springs “it” color. ![]()

Interior design firm Studio O + A designed the new Facebook offices in Palo Alto. The unique design is inspired by the incomparable nature of Facebook users and employees, bringing together elements of interior design to create small neighborhoods within the building which were created to give each department its own unique flavor and vibe. In order to keep that trendy and fresh feel the staff are encouraged to write on walls, move furniture, and add art work if they feel like doing so. Don’t forget to follow Sense of Style Interiors on Facebook!
Bamboo is a fabulous alternative to the basic wood flooring and a great way to go green. Bamboo can be flattened into flooring, molded into furniture, pressed into veneers, and even sliced up to make window blinds. It has a clean feel and is one of the greenest materials around!
This lobby in Boutique Hotel is a perfect example of how well muted blues and grays work with yellow. The art hanging on the mirror is a spectacular addition too the room. The abstract art on the table is a fun way to keep the room interesting. I think the symmetric floors against bold mirror is the best part. This is a lobby I’d like to spend some time in!

Wallpaper in a bathroom? Yes! Actually, the bathroom
is one of the best spaces to play with different types of
pattern and color. Most wallcoverings with a smooth surface,
especially commercial grade are not only moisture and mold resistant,
but are also hygienic and easier to clean, more so then painted walls.
As far as the right look for a wallcovering in your bath,
the pattern would be dependent on hard surface materials,
such as tile or stone, as well as the bathroom furniture, such as the
vanity or linen cabinets. For example, you could wrap the entire
bathroom walls with a wallcovering to make a bold statement
or just simply do one accent wall, such as behind the vanity and mirror,
as shown in the image below.

This inspirational dining room features classic architectural details. The white moldings and white coffered ceiling in contrast with the deep brown chocolate walls work wonderfully in a dining room space and actually could stimulate the appetite. What a comfortable space to enjoy a turkey dinner with family.

This is definitely a room I would love to have in my house! The bright pink with the black strips works perfectly against the bold teal paint. The room is tied together with the tiled fire place with the symmetric windows, mirrors, and candles.

Not only does the color of these two dresses play a role in the inspiration of this interior, but the soft flowing fabrics mimic the silk drapery of this dining space. The runway deck imitates the white, lacquered modern dining table. If I would add anything to the interior, I would totally take abstractly painted backdrop of the runway and place it right above the fireplace.
Girls love pink! But, adding it to an interior is bold, edgy and unexpected. Her porcelain skin tone mimics the white wainscot of the interior, and notice the touch of blue in the voile of the underskirt how it relates to a blue and white vase that tones down the bold contrasting colors in the interior.
This caught my eye, what a beautiful prep sink!
This apron front sink from Native Trails is an ideal choice for your bar or prep area. An artisan crafted design, the Cabana shows off the uniqueness of hand hammered copper in the stunning patina of antique copper or the stylish finish of brushed nickel.

Over 350 retired Las Vegas playing cards were used to make up this functional lounge chair. Available in blue or red playing cards. By BRC Designs. A very cool artisian of hand-made furniture!
So many things to blog about! I really wanted to share some of the cool stuff we saw while at Dwell on Design in Los Angeles, but I am a little behind…so I am going to do a quick recap! Almost everything we saw was either recycled/sustainable products or made with the environment in mind!
